On December 4th, 2020, UAE Developer Advocate Mridul Bhandari, Fawaz Siddiqi & Egypt Developer Advocate Mustafa Abdulaleem conducted a webinar on Extracting Insights from Videos.

There were a total of 35 attendees including developers and students across MEA. The webinar started with a welcome note introducing the audience to IBM Developer Series and was divided into two primary sections, one of the sections briefing the audience about Natural Language Processing & Watson Natural Language Understanding and another section was the Code Pattern.

The first part was led by Fawaz Siddiqi & Mridul Bhandari. Fawaz started it off by introducing NLP. He then explained NLP Examples & Challenges, NLP Pipeline which covered POS Tagging, Word Sense Disambiguation, WordNet & Spell Correction. Then, Mridul continued by introducing the Watson Natural Language Understanding service, how it works, features, use cases and other NLP based Watson Services

The second section of the webinar was conducted by Mostafa Abdelaleem, which was about extracting insights from video. He started by showing the attendees how to instantiate Watson NLU, Speech to text & Tone Analyzer services on IBM Cloud. After that, he demonstrated how to extract insights from the video using these services.
